DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a heavy adventure bike, the rear brake is a key tool for slow riding, and the Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE of 2010 to 2019 is no exception. Accossato offers the rear pad AGPP121 in the Organic compound, SKU AGPP121OR, for owners who ride mainly on paved roads and in town. It gives a soft, easily controlled pedal for tight manoeuvres, and Accossato says it keeps wear on the rear disc low over a long service life.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pad, SKU AGPP121OR
- Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE, 2010 to 2019
- Accossato: long performance and low disc wear
- Easy modulation for tight turns
- Quiet at walking pace
- Two pads for the single rear caliper
- Front pad AGPA97 listed in five compounds
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that its Organic compound gives lasting performance while limiting disc wear. On the rear of an XT1200Z SUPER TENERE, which is used often but gently, that is a sensible combination. We make no claims about the composition beyond Accossato's own statement.
Handling a Heavy Bike at Low Speed
Turning a big adventure bike in a narrow street, or rolling it down a gravel driveway, is easier with a rear brake that responds gently to small pedal inputs. The Organic compound gives that kind of fine control on the XT1200Z SUPER TENERE and runs quietly while doing so. Many riders also drag the rear brake slightly during slow turns to keep the bike stable, and a pad that does not grab makes that technique far easier to learn and to repeat. For owners who travel two-up in all weathers or ride unpaved routes in the wet, the Sintered rear pad is the alternative.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPP121 for the rear of the Yamaha XT1200Z SUPER TENERE from 2010 to 2019, also under XTZ 1200 SUPER TENERE. One box fits the single rear caliper. For the front of the XT1200Z SUPER TENERE, Accossato offers AGPA97 for the same years. When changing the rear pads, inspect the disc, clean the piston before pushing it back and press the pedal several times until it feels firm.
Road Approval
No ABE or test certificate for this rear pad is on file with us. It is offered for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
