DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion, the rear brake is mostly used to steady the bike at low speed and to round off stops smoothly, rather than to haul it down from speed. For the XJ6 Diversion from 2009 to 2015, Accossato lists its AGPP89 rear pad, and this listing is the Organic (OR) compound. It suits commuters and relaxed riders who want a quiet, progressive rear brake, who spend much of their time in town or on the daily run to work, and who would like the rear disc to last as long as possible.
Key Features
- AGPP89 rear pad in Organic (OR) compound
- For the Yamaha XJ6 Diversion, 2009 to 2015
- Progressive, easy-to-dose pedal
- Accossato: long life and low disc wear
- Quiet in town
- One box for the rear caliper
- ST version also available
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato frames its Organic compound around durability on both sides of the contact: the pad keeps working properly over a long service life, and the disc it rubs against wears slowly. A rear brake on a commuting Diversion is pressed countless times but seldom hard, which is exactly the use this description has in mind.
A Gentle Pedal for Daily Riding
In slow traffic, a Diversion rider often keeps the bike balanced with a light touch of rear brake while the clutch slips a little. An organic pad responds in proportion to the pressure of the foot, without a sudden grab, which makes crawling through a queue or turning tightly into a driveway much calmer. It needs no warm-up on a cold morning and makes little noise when the bike creeps into a parking space. Over months of commuting, the gentle treatment of the rear disc keeps running costs low, and the pad itself lasts well when used this way.
When to Choose ST
If you tour two-up, carry heavy luggage or ride through wet winters, the ST version of AGPP89 is intended for that kind of use.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's data the XJ6 600 Diversion from 2009 to 2015 takes AGPP89 at the rear. At the front, AGPA22 is the listed pad. A single rear caliper means a single box is enough. While the wheel area is open, look at the rear disc for a ridge along its outer edge and check the colour of the fluid. Push clean pistons back gently, fit the new pads and press the pedal several times until it no longer sinks. A few relaxed stops on a quiet street finish the job.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or test mark for this pad. It is sold for competition use.
