DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the Yamaha FJR1300AE, the rear brake is a daily tool: for slow manoeuvring, for holding the bike on a slope and for smoothing out tight corners. Accossato's AGPP121 rear pad in Organic (OR) compound is designed for that everyday work. Accossato says it gives long-lasting performance and limits disc wear. It is listed for the FJR 1300 AE from 2016 to 2019, and it suits owners who ride mainly solo and in dry conditions.
Key Features
- AGPP121 rear pad from Accossato, Organic (OR) compound
- For the Yamaha FJR1300AE, 2016-2019
- Accossato: long life and reduced disc wear
- Progressive control for low-speed manoeuvres
- Quiet in daily use
- Box contains two pads for the rear caliper
- Also offered as ST
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's organic mix is intended to provide steady performance over a long life while treating the disc gently. On the rear of a tourer ridden daily, that approach keeps running costs down. It also carries the general Accossato claims: slow wear, limited heat to reduce fade and dependable stopping.
Parking, U-Turns and Slow Traffic
An FJR1300AE is heavy, and at walking pace its weight is noticeable. Many riders use a light touch of the rear brake in U-turns, when parking on slopes and when crawling through traffic, because it steadies the bike without upsetting the front. A progressive pad that is easy to meter makes this much easier. The organic compound is designed for that kind of smooth, quiet engagement. Because the AE is often ridden solo on shorter trips, the rear pad rarely gets hot, which is the situation an organic mix is made for. It also leaves the rear disc in better shape over the years. For long descents with luggage and a passenger, the ST version is designed to handle more heat.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPP121 for the rear of the FJR 1300 AE from 2016 to 2019 and AGPA21 for the front. One box covers the single rear caliper. When changing, clean the piston before pressing it back, check the disc for wear and inspect the fluid. Pump the pedal several times before riding and bed the pads in with gentle stops.
Road Approval
No ABE or test certificate for AGPP121OR is available to us; it is offered for racing use.
