DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a Triumph Tiger 800 XCX works quietly in the background: it settles the chassis in slow manoeuvres, helps in tight hairpins and holds the bike on a slope. For the 2018 to 2020 XCX, Accossato offers the AGPP89 rear pad in its Organic (OR) compound. It suits owners who ride mainly in town and on ordinary roads, who like a soft, well-dosed rear brake, and who would rather the rear disc lasted many seasons.
Key Features
- Rear pad AGPP89 in Organic (OR) compound
- Fits the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, 2018 to 2020
- Accossato: long-lasting performance and gentle on the disc
- Fine dosing for slow-speed control and U-turns
- Quiet in city traffic
- Two pads in the box for the rear caliper
- An ST version of this rear pad is also made
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that the Organic compound delivers its performance over a long period and limits wear on the disc. At the rear of an adventure bike, where the brake is used often but seldom very hard, that is a sensible priority. The rear disc is spared, and the pad itself keeps working season after season. The Turin-area manufacturer adds general claims of low wear, fade resistance through restrained heat and strong stopping power.
Slow Manoeuvres and Everyday Control
Many riders use the rear brake to steady a bike at walking pace: filtering through traffic, turning in a narrow street, edging into a parking space. On a tall machine like the XCX, a rear pad that bites gently and progressively makes those moments easier. Organic material also tends to run quietly, which matters in the city. If the bike regularly carries a passenger over wet mountain roads, the ST version of AGPP89 is aimed at that job.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPP89 for the rear of the Tiger 800 XCX from 2018 to 2020. For the front of the same bike, Accossato offers AGPA29. When changing the rear pads, clean the caliper and piston before pushing it back, check the rear disc for wear and grooves, look at the fluid level in the rear reservoir, and pump the pedal several times until it feels firm. New pads need a gentle bedding-in period of a few careful stops.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or test mark on file for AGPP89OR. It is sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
