DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cruiser riders use the rear brake more than most. With feet forward and a long, low bike, a gentle press on the pedal is often the most natural way to slow a Triumph Speedmaster in town or on a relaxed ride. Accossato lists the AGPA76 rear pad for the Speedmaster 800 of 2003 and 2004 and the 900 of 2005 to 2015, and this box contains it in the Organic (OR) compound: quiet, smooth and easy on the rear disc.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads, article AGPA76OR
- For the Triumph Speedmaster 800 (2003 to 2004) and 900 (2005 to 2015)
- For relaxed cruising and town riding
- Accossato claims long life and reduced disc wear
- Two pads in the box, one rear caliper
- Also offered as ST
Construction and Material Quality
The AGPA76 is available in two compounds, and OR is the organic one. Accossato describes it as giving lasting performance while limiting disc wear. On a cruiser where the rear brake works frequently, a pad that preserves the disc and wears slowly keeps maintenance low. Organic material also bites well from cold and tends to be quiet.
Forward Controls and the Rear Pedal
With forward-mounted controls, the rear brake pedal is operated with the leg stretched out, and fine control can take practice. A progressive organic pad makes it easier to apply just the right amount of pressure. Many cruiser riders use the rear brake to settle the bike before applying the front, especially at low speed. Check the rear pads regularly, keep the rear disc clean, and make sure the pedal linkage moves freely. If the pedal feels long or spongy, bleed the brake and replace the fluid. Adjusting the pedal height to suit your boot also helps a great deal on a Speedmaster.
Fitment and Compatibility
On the Triumph Speed Master 800 of 2003 and 2004 and the Speedmaster 900 of 2005 to 2015, this is the rear pad listed by Accossato. A single rear caliper takes one box. At the front, Accossato lists the AGPA72 for the same years, and the AGPA29 for the 1200 of 2018 to 2025. The AGPA76 is also available in Sintered.
Road Approval
No German ABE or road inspection certificate exists for this pad on our file. It is sold for competition and circuit use.
