DescriptionThe whole story▼
Buying a used Triumph Speed Triple 1050 S often comes with a to-do list: fresh oil, a chain check, new tyres if they are old, and a look at the brakes. The rear pads are easy to overlook, but they are cheap to replace and make a noticeable difference to how the bike stops at low speed. Accossato lists the AGPA76 rear pad for the Speed Triple 1050 S from 2016 to 2020, and the Organic (OR) version suits a rider who uses the bike on the road for pleasure and errands.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads, article AGPA76OR
- For the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 S, 2016 to 2020
- A sensible choice when refreshing a used bike for road use
- Accossato claims lasting performance and reduced disc wear
- Two pads, one set for the rear caliper
- Also sold in Sintered
Construction and Material Quality
The AGPA76 comes in two compounds, and OR is the organic one. Accossato credits it with performance that lasts and with lower disc wear. On a used bike, where the rear disc may already have lost some thickness, a pad that is gentle on the disc helps it last a little longer. The organic compound also works well from cold, which suits typical road use.
A Used-bike Brake Check
When you take over a Speed Triple 1050 S, inspect the rear brake carefully. Measure the disc against the minimum thickness stamped on it, check for grooves and blueing, and look at the pads for uneven wear, which can point to a sticking piston or dirty slide. Clean the caliper thoroughly before fitting new pads. If the brake fluid is dark or the service history does not show when it was last changed, renew it. Finally, pump the pedal until it is firm, and bed the new pads in with several gentle stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA76 for the rear of the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 S from 2016 to 2020. One box covers the single rear caliper. The DK132 disc is also catalogued by Accossato for this model. If you prefer a sintered compound, the AGPA76 is available as ST.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or road approval document for this pad. It is supplied for circuit and competition use.
