DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of an MV Agusta F4 1000 does modest but useful work on the road: holding the superbike at a sloping junction, steadying it at walking pace, helping on tight downhill bends. This Organic (OR) rear set covers a long list of F4 1000 versions from 2002 to 2008 and 2012 to 2015, from the Tamburini to the R Corsa Corta, and suits owners who ride their F4 on public roads.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads for many F4 1000 versions
- Listed for 2002 to 2008 and 2012 to 2015
- Longer performance and limited disc wear, according to Accossato
- Smooth, easy-to-dose rear braking
- Quiet at low speeds
- One box covers the rear caliper
Construction and Material Quality
What Accossato promises for the Organic mixture is endurance and respect for the disc: it keeps performing over a long period and wears the rotor less. That is not the stuff of racing brochures, but it is exactly what an older superbike on occasional weekend rides needs at the back. The company's broader aims, slow wear, heat kept within bounds and a firm stop, are present here in their most relaxed form. Organic is the only compound Accossato lists for this rear shape.
Early and Late F4s Alike
The F4 1000 has a long history, and this rear pad reflects it: the Tamburini of 2002 to 2005, the standard F4 1000 of 2004 to 2006, the S of 2006 to 2007, the Senna and Stock versions of 2006 to 2008 and the later R Corsa Corta of 2012 to 2015 all share it. Many of these bikes are now kept by enthusiasts and ridden on sunny days. For them, a smooth, disc-friendly rear pad is exactly right: it responds softly at walking pace and does not wear the disc of a cherished bike.
Changing the Rear Pads
Inspect the pads when servicing the chain. When changing them, clean the piston before pushing it back, check the disc and the colour of the fluid, and press the pedal until firm before riding. Older bikes in particular benefit from a fluid change if it has not been done recently.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA118 for the rear of the MV Agusta F4 1000 Tamburini (2002 to 2005), F4 1000 (2004 to 2006), F4 1000 S (2006 to 2007), F4 1000 Senna (2006 to 2008), F4 1000 Stock (2006 to 2008) and F4 1000 R Corsa Corta (2012 to 2015). Model years 2009 to 2011 are not part of this listing, so owners of those bikes should check before ordering. The front of the F4 1000 R and LH44 uses AGPA106. One box covers the rear.
Road Approval
We have no ABE, test mark or road approval for these pads. They are therefore supplied for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
