A 2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO bought as a weekday roadster rarely needs a sharp rear brake. What it needs is a pedal that lets the rider creep through a multi-storey car park, ease down a steep side street and hold the bike still at a junction on a hill. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the Organic compound is aimed at exactly that. The maker credits it with a long working life and low disc wear, and its soft bite suits a bike that spends much of its time below city speed limits.

Construction and Material Quality
In Accossato's words, the Organic compound gives longer performance and keeps disc wear low. At the rear of an EVO that rarely sees a track, those two points are what the owner will notice over the years: pads that are not replaced every spring and a disc that stays smooth. The friction layer is bonded to the AGPA42 plate. Like every Accossato pad, this one is designed to keep its temperature in check, which helps the pedal feel stay the same on a long downhill stretch.
Car Parks and Steep Side Streets
Multi-storey car parks are an awkward place for a big naked bike: tight ramps, painted concrete and a sharp turn at every level. The rider covers the rear brake the whole way down, using it to trim speed while the front stays untouched. A compound that bites softly and builds gradually is far easier to meter in that setting than one designed for hard stops.
The same goes for a hill start at a busy junction, where the rear pedal holds the EVO while the clutch takes up. When the rear pads eventually need changing, check the disc for a raised edge, clean the piston before pushing it back, and confirm that both pads move freely. Several presses of the pedal will bring the piston back into contact before you ride away.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this AGPA42 for the rear caliper of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R EVO in 2022. The two front calipers take the Accossato AGPA106 in the same year. Besides Organic, the AGPA42 is offered as ST and ZXC.
Road Approval
This Organic rear set has no ABE or test mark in our records and is supplied for racing use.
