DescriptionThe whole story▼
A KTM 1290 Super Duke R spends plenty of its life at low speed: rolling through town, filtering between cars, pulling up at a café. For the rear brake of the 2014 to 2022 models, Accossato offers the AGPA42 pad in the Organic compound. It is intended for riders who use the bike mainly on the road and want a rear pedal that is soft, predictable and quiet, and that takes it easy on the disc.
Key Features
- Organic rear pads, AGPA42OR
- KTM 1290 Super Duke R, 2014 to 2022, plus the 2020 R Black
- Accossato: long-lasting and easy on the disc
- Soft, predictable pedal for town riding
- Quiet operation at low speed
- One box for the rear caliper
- No ABE; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's Organic compound is described as long-lasting and gentle on the disc. At the rear of a naked roadster, where the pad is used often but lightly, those qualities suit everyday riding. The friction layer is bonded to the AGPA42 plate. Accossato also designs its pads to keep heat in check and limit fade.
The Super Duke in Town
Riding a powerful naked bike through town calls for a light touch. A smooth rear brake helps the rider control speed in slow traffic, balance the bike while filtering and stop gently at lights. With a soft compound, the pedal gives a gradual response that makes these low-speed tasks easier.
The Organic face also tends to run quietly, which you notice when rolling up to a café terrace. When changing the rear pads, check the disc for wear, clean the piston before pushing it back and make sure the pads slide freely. Pump the pedal until it is firm, then test the brake at walking pace before heading off. A disc that stays smooth and a pedal that stays quiet are the two signs that the Organic set is doing its job on a road-going Super Duke R.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear brake of the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, 2014 to 2022, and the R Black of 2020. At the front, the bike takes the Accossato AGPA106. The AGPA42 is also available as ST and ZXC.
Road Approval
The AGPA42OR has no ABE or test mark in our records and is therefore supplied for motorsport.
Scope of Delivery
