At the back of a KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, the brake mostly works in the background. It holds the bike still while you wait at a junction on a slope, it trims speed when you coast into a village, and it keeps the machine tidy when you shuffle it into a parking bay. For S models from 2017 to 2023 Accossato offers the AGPA29 rear pad in the Organic compound, aimed at riders who do most of their miles on ordinary roads and like a soft, silent rear brake.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Organic compound as long-lasting and easy on the disc. Both points suit a rear brake that is used dozens of times on a normal day but rarely hard. The friction layer is bonded to the AGPA29 plate. As with every pad in the Accossato range, heat build-up is kept modest, which helps the pedal feel stay constant on a longer descent.
Village Streets and Parking Bays
The S is a big, tall bike, and parking it on a sloping street or turning it in a narrow lane takes a delicate right foot. With a soft compound, a small push on the pedal produces a small, smooth slowing effect rather than a sudden stop, and that makes low-speed control noticeably easier, especially with a passenger aboard.
The Organic face also tends to run without squeal, which you notice most when rolling slowly through a quiet village or into a hotel courtyard. When the time comes to replace the rear pads, look closely at the disc for ridges near its edge, clean the piston before pushing it back, and check that both pads move freely on their guide. Press the pedal repeatedly after fitting until it stands firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this AGPA29 for the rear caliper of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S from 2017 to 2023. The front calipers of the same bike take Accossato AGPA96. The AGPA29 is also available as ST, STMX and EV1.
Road Approval
The Organic AGPA29 carries no German ABE or test mark in our records and is therefore sold for racing.
