The rear brake of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R from 2017 to 2020 is used constantly in small doses: parking on a slope, manoeuvring in a hotel car park, steadying the bike before a bend. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in the Organic compound is aimed at owners who ride mostly on the road and want a gentle, quiet rear brake that is easy to modulate and kind to the disc.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato attributes two qualities to its Organic compound: lasting performance and gentle treatment of the disc. For the rear brake of a big adventure bike, which is used frequently but lightly, those are practical benefits. The friction face is fixed to the AGPA29 plate. Accossato also designs its pads to keep heat build-up and fading low.
Parking, Hill Starts and U-Turns
The R is tall and heavy, and moving it at walking pace requires a light touch on the rear brake. A soft compound makes that easier because the pedal response is gradual. On a steep hill start, holding the bike with the rear while releasing the clutch becomes second nature when the brake reacts predictably.
When replacing the rear pads, clean the piston before pushing it back, check that the pads slide easily in the caliper and inspect the rear disc for ridges. Pump the pedal several times after fitting to restore pressure. A couple of slow stops in a car park is a good way to check the result.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA29 for the rear caliper of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R from 2017 to 2020; later R models are not listed for this rear pad. The front calipers of the R take the AGPA96 from 2017 to 2022. The AGPA29 is also offered as ST, STMX and EV1.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or test mark on file for these Organic rear pads, so they are supplied for racing.
