DescriptionThe whole story▼
On a Kawasaki KLR 650, the rear brake is used constantly: to slow the bike on loose surfaces, to control it on steep tracks and to hold it at a standstill. For everyday use, Accossato offers the AGPA77 rear pad in its Organic mixture. It fits the KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024 and is intended for riders who use the bike mostly on tarmac and easy tracks and want a gentle rear brake that spares the disc.
Key Features
- Rear pads AGPA77 for the Kawasaki KLR 650, 2008 to 2024
- Organic mixture, SKU AGPA77OR
- Per Accossato, a long life and low disc wear
- Gentle, controllable pedal
- Quiet operation
- Front brake uses AGPA76
- ST version also produced
- No ABE held by us; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says the Organic mixture delivers longer-lasting performance and limits wear on the disc. On the rear of a KLR 650, where the brake is used often and lightly, that combination means fewer replacements and a disc that stays in good condition. The company also claims its pads resist fading because heat build-up stays moderate, and that they deliver firm stopping force. The block is fitted to the AGPA77 plate.
Rear Brake on Easy Tracks
Riding a KLR 650 on gravel roads or farm tracks, many riders rely on the rear brake to slow the bike without loading the front wheel on a loose surface. A soft, progressive rear pad makes it easier to find the point where the wheel slows without locking. On tarmac, the same pad gives a quiet, gentle response.
Rear brakes on dual-sport bikes are exposed to dust and water. Clean the caliper regularly, check the pad depth whenever the chain is serviced and keep chain lube off the disc.
A KLR 650 that has stood in a barn or shed for a while often has a rear caliper crusted with dried mud. Scrape it out gently, free the piston so it moves evenly, and only then seat the Organic set; a sticky piston drags on the disc and eats the new friction material quickly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA77 for the rear of the Kawasaki KLR 650 from 2008 to 2024, and AGPA76 for the front. The box covers one caliper, which is the single rear caliper on this bike.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German test documentation for AGPA77OR in our hands. The pads are sold for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
