DescriptionThe whole story▼
On an Indian Super Chief ridden in towns and on relaxed trips, the rear brake does a steady stream of small jobs: slowing for junctions, holding the bike on a slope, steadying it in a tight turn. Accossato offers this rear pad for the 2022 and 2023 Super Chief in the Organic (OR) compound, which the company says provides lasting performance while limiting disc wear. It suits calm, everyday riding.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads for the Indian Super Chief, 2022 and 2023
- Accossato cites long performance and reduced disc wear
- Smooth pedal in traffic and at walking pace
- Suited to commuting and relaxed cruising
- Two pads per box for the rear caliper
- Front pad AGPA38 offered separately
- Competition use in Germany
Construction and Material Quality
Two promises sit at the heart of Accossato's organic pad: it keeps delivering over a long stretch of use, and it spares the disc. Neither sounds dramatic, yet on a Super Chief that spends its Saturdays rolling from one café to the next, those are exactly the qualities a rear pad needs. Accossato also mentions solid stopping power and a reluctance to fade, since the pad is designed to warm up slowly. The makeup of the friction material is not disclosed, so we leave it at that.
Main Street at Walking Pace
Cruisers are made for slow parades as much as open roads. On a Super Chief that means creeping along a crowded high street, pausing for pedestrians and backing gently into a kerbside spot, all with the right foot resting on the pedal. An organic pad answers with a soft, progressive response that makes those moments relaxed rather than jerky. If you regularly ride two-up in poor weather, Accossato also offers this rear pad in its Sintered version.
A Glance at the Garage
Every few thousand miles, shine a torch into the rear caliper and look at how much friction material is left. Belt-driven bikes like the Super Chief spare the disc from chain lube, but polish and tyre shine can still find their way onto it, so wipe it clean after detailing the bike.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's catalogue the part number AGPA81 covers the rear wheel of the 2022 and 2023 Super Chief, both as the Super Chief 1800 and as the Limited. You need just one box for the back of the bike, while the front of the Super Chief takes AGPA38. When swapping, ease the pistons home once they are clean, then press the pedal repeatedly until you feel resistance.
Road Approval
We have no approval or test documents for this pad, so it is offered in Germany for racing and competition.
