DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a Honda CBR650F does its most useful work at walking pace: holding the bike steady while you creep through a queue, trimming speed in a car park, keeping the chassis calm on a gentle downhill in town. Accossato's AGPP185 rear pad in the Organic (OR) compound is aimed at riders whose rear brake lives that kind of life. It responds softly from cold, runs quietly and is easy on the disc. It covers the CBR650F from 2014 to 2018.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Honda CBR650F, 2014 to 2018
- Accossato AGPP185 in the Organic (OR) compound, article AGPP185OR
- Catalogued for the CBR 650 F both with and without ABS
- Smooth, progressive feel for low-speed control
- Two pads in the box, which relines the single rear caliper
- Low noise and modest disc wear for daily use
- No German ABE on file; sold for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
For the AGPP185OR, Accossato fills the rear pad shape with its organic lining and claims two things for it: it performs well for a long time and it limits wear on the disc. At the back of a road bike, where the brake is used lightly but often, that is a sensible combination. The lining responds without needing heat, and its gentle action makes it easier to meter small amounts of rear brake with your foot.
The Rear Brake in Slow Traffic
Riding instructors teach a simple trick for slow manoeuvres: keep a little throttle, slip the clutch, and control speed with light pressure on the rear brake. On a CBR650F, with its sporty riding position, this keeps the bike upright and steady far better than dabbing the front. A rear pad that bites softly and predictably makes the technique easier to learn. Rear pads live close to the road, so spray and chain lubricant find them easily; wipe the disc when you clean the chain and never spray lubricant near the caliper. When you fit new pads, push the pistons back slowly with the reservoir cap loosened, then pump the pedal several times until it firms up before moving off.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPP185 for the CBR 650 F in both its ABS and its non-ABS form, which covers the Honda CBR650F of 2014 to 2018. Besides this organic version, the AGPP185 is offered as Sintered (ST). For the front the catalogue names two pads, the AGPA72 and the AGPA81 depending on the version, and it lists the DK230 disc for this model.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or test certificate for the AGPP185OR in our records, so it is offered for track riding and competition.
