DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake on a Honda CB1000 Hornet does quieter work than the front, but it does it all day. It steadies the bike at walking pace, holds it on a slope at the lights and trims speed mid-corner without upsetting the chassis. Accossato's AGPP185 rear pad in the Organic (OR) compound is aimed at riders who use the Hornet built from 2025 to 2026 mainly in towns and on everyday roads, where the rear pad is touched often and gently.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Honda CB1000 Hornet, model years 2025 to 2026
- Accossato AGPP185 in the Organic (OR) compound, article AGPP185OR
- Two pads in the box, the full set for the single rear caliper
- Chosen, in Accossato's words, for long life and low disc wear
- A Sintered (ST) version of the same pad is also listed
- AGPA240 is Accossato's matching front pad
- No German ABE; intended for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
An organic friction material is at its most comfortable where heat stays moderate, and the rear brake of a road bike is such a place. Accossato puts it plainly: the organic AGPP185 is made to keep performing over a long period while taking little from the disc. That combination suits a pad that seldom sees a hard stop but is dragged lightly many times on every ride. Because the compound does not need temperature to grip, the first touch of the pedal on a cold morning feels much like the last one before you park. It also tends to stay quiet, which riders filtering past pedestrians and cyclists tend to appreciate.
Walking Pace and Tight Turns
Slow-speed control is where the rear brake earns its keep. Turning the CB1000 Hornet round in a narrow street, easing into a parking space or crawling along in a jam, a skilled rider keeps a little throttle on and uses light pressure on the pedal to hold the speed, rather than pulling in the clutch and hoping. The technique relies on a pad that responds smoothly to small inputs. With an organic compound that response is soft at the start of the travel and builds evenly, so the bike does not jerk to a stop. Practise it in an empty car park before relying on it in traffic. When you fit new pads, clean the piston before pushing it back into the caliper, and pump the pedal several times afterwards until it is firm again.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's list the AGPP185 fits the rear caliper of the Honda CB1000 Hornet from 2025 to 2026. The Hornet has one caliper at the back, and this single box completes it. For the front wheel the catalogue names the AGPA240 for the same years.
Road Approval
No German ABE or other approval document is on record with us for this rear pad, so the AGPP185OR is sold for competition and track use.
