Rear discs lead a harder life than their owners admit. On a Fantic Caballero 500 the rear brake sits directly behind the chain, low down and in the firing line for everything the back wheel picks up. Accossato's AGPP91 is the rear pad for this bike in 2017 and again from 2022 to 2023, and the Organic material, article AGPP91OR, is the version the company describes as long-lasting and considerate towards the disc. On a brake that is used in small doses all day, that is a sensible pairing.

Construction and Material Quality
The two things the factory says about this mixture both point in the same direction, towards cost over time rather than towards force on the day. Material that gives itself up slowly stays in the caliper for more seasons, and a surface that treats the disc kindly leaves the more expensive component alone. There is no claim here about outright power, and none is needed at the back of a light single. The carrier is the usual AGPP91 plate, used by all three versions of the article, so a change of material never turns into a question of whether the pad will seat properly.
What Lands on the Rear Disc
Chain lubricant is the usual culprit. Sprayed on generously and then flung outwards by the first few turns of the wheel, it finds the inner face of the disc with remarkable accuracy, and once it has soaked into the friction material the only cure is a new set. Road film, dust off a gravel track and the fine grey powder the brake makes itself all join it. The result is a rear brake that feels vague, sometimes noisy, and that is quietly working on the disc every time the pedal goes down.
A few habits keep it in order. Lubricate the chain sparingly with the wheel turning slowly and wipe the surplus before riding. Clean the disc with a proper brake cleaner rather than a general degreaser, and keep every kind of shine product well away from it. When a pad has been contaminated, replace it rather than hoping it will burn clean. Once new material is in, press the pedal until it is firm and use a series of gentle applications over the first rides to bring the Caballero 500 back to a predictable rear brake.
Fitment and Compatibility
This is one of the entries that spans the whole model. Accossato lists the AGPP91 for the Caballero 500 of 2017 and then for the 2022 and 2023 trims, the Explorer, Rally and Scrambler in both years, the Anniversary, Deluxe and Flat Track in 2023 and the Six Days in 2022. The intervening seasons are not part of the listing. At the front the two generations part company, with the AGPA177 for the older bike and the AGPA184 for the newer ones. No disc is offered for this Fantic. One box is the set for the single rear caliper.
Road Approval
No ABE for the AGPP91OR has reached us, and no German examination report either, so the pads are listed for competition use.
