DescriptionThe whole story▼
The back wheel is the part of an XDiavel Dark that owners look at most. It is wide, it sits under a short tail, and on a bike finished in matt black every trace of dust shows. Accossato's AGPA92 is the rear pad for this Ducati from 2022 to 2024, and in the Organic material, article AGPA92OR, it is the gentlest of the options. The factory's line on the mixture is that it lasts well and is kind to the disc, which suits a rear brake used in small measures.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Ducati XDiavel Dark, 2022 to 2024
- Article AGPA92OR: the AGPA92 plate with the Organic material
- Accossato promises a long working life and restrained wear on the disc
- Suited to the light, frequent use a rear brake normally sees
- One caliper at the back of the bike, so one box does the job
- The front of the same machine takes the AGPA177, listed for 2024
- ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC cover the same plate for harder use
- No German ABE held; supplied for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Two promises come with this material and they support each other. A pad that wears slowly stays in the caliper for longer, and one that treats the disc gently postpones the far more expensive half of the job. That combination fits the rear of a road-going Ducati better than it fits any race track, because the rear brake on such a bike lives on light, repeated applications rather than on single heavy ones. The plate itself is the standard AGPA92 carrier used by every suffix of the article, so switching between materials never changes the fitting, only the surface that meets the disc.
The Wheel You Look At Most
Brake dust is not evenly distributed over a motorcycle. It collects on the rear rim, where it mixes with whatever the final drive throws off and with the road film picked up behind the wheel, and on a dark bike it turns the whole back end grey within a few rides. A material that wears slowly simply puts less of itself into that mixture. It also leaves the disc face smoother for longer, which is a quieter pleasure but a real one on a machine whose rear wheel is more or less on display.
The cleaning itself deserves a word of caution. Whatever makes the rim shine is the last thing the disc wants, so put the product on the cloth rather than on the bike, keep tyre dressing well away from the brake, and rinse before anything dries. After a wash, ride slowly and use the pedal a few times to dry the friction surface. If a pad has soaked up oil or a silicone spray it will never come back, and the only honest fix is a new set.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA92 at the rear of the XDiavel Dark for three seasons: 2022, 2023 and 2024. The front of the same bike is a different story, since the AGPA177 appears there for 2024 only, so the two ends of the machine are not covered by matching year spans and it is worth reading both entries before ordering a full set. The disc range for the model contains the DKS053. One box is one caliper, and the rear wheel has a single caliper, so a rear change means a single box.
Road Approval
There is no ABE and no German test documentation for the AGPA92OR in our hands, which is why the article is offered for competition use rather than for the road.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA92 pads in the Organic material, packed as one set. That is what the rear caliper of the XDiavel Dark takes.
