DescriptionThe whole story▼

The rear brake of a Scrambler 800 earns its keep at walking pace. Paddling out of a gravel car park, holding the bike steady on a camber at the lights, tightening a U-turn on a narrow lane: none of that looks like braking and all of it wears a pad. Accossato's AGPP91 rear pad in the Organic material, article AGPP91OR, is the version the firm ties to a longer working life and to going easy on the disc it rubs against. The rear listing runs from 2017 to 2025.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the Ducati Scrambler 800, 2017 to 2025
  • Article AGPP91OR: the AGPP91 shape in the Organic material
  • Accossato links this version with long service and a kinder life for the disc
  • Suited to slow work: manoeuvres, queues, holding the bike on a slope
  • Listed for the 803, the Cafe Racer to 2020 and the Desert Sled to 2023
  • Two pads in the box, the set the single rear caliper takes
  • The same shape is also pressed in ST and STMX
  • No German ABE in our files; sold for competition

Construction and Material Quality

The claim attached to this version is about duration, and about what the pad does to the part it rubs on. A rear disc is thin, easy to ruin and tedious to replace, so material that treats it gently suits a motorcycle whose back brake is in use constantly at low speed. The AGPP91 plate underneath is the one all three versions share, which keeps a later change to something else a matter of friction surface and not of fit. Organic is not the pick for a day of repeated stops from high speed; it is the pick for the thousand small applications that fill an ordinary week on a Scrambler 800.

The Brake Nobody Talks About

Ask a rider which brake they depend on and they will point at the lever. Watch the same rider in a supermarket car park and the right foot never leaves the pedal. With upright bars and a low seat, this Ducati makes slow riding tidy through the back wheel: the pedal settles the chassis before a turn, holds the bike against a slope while a helmet is unclipped, and drags quietly through queuing traffic for hours at a time.

The rear caliper also lives in the worst place on the motorcycle, tucked behind the wheel in the path of everything the tyre throws up. Rinse it whenever the rest of the bike is washed. Glance at the pad thickness through the caliper mouth at every chain adjustment, since a rear set often goes unnoticed until it starts to complain. Clean the pistons before they are pushed back, keep spray lubricant off the disc, and press the pedal several times after fitting so the material is against the disc before you ride.

Fitment and Compatibility

At the back of the Scrambler 800 the AGPP91 is listed from 2017 to 2025, with the Cafe Racer included to 2020 and the Desert Sled to 2023 inside the same block. The front of the bike takes a different article, the AGPA177, and that one carries on a season longer to 2026, so the two ends are not interchangeable in year terms either. One caliper works the rear wheel and one box holds its set. Accossato further catalogues the DK008 and the DKS074 discs against this model. A 2026 machine falls outside the rear entry.

Road Approval

No ABE and no German test report have been supplied to us for the AGPP91OR, so the article is sold for racing and for closed-course use.

Scope of Delivery

One box, two AGPP91 pads in the Organic material, which is the complete set for the rear caliper of the Scrambler 800.
