DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Panigale V4 R machines cover very little ground. They are started to keep them healthy, ridden for an hour on a dry Sunday and put away again, and in that life the rear brake is used at low speed and low effort: out of the garage, down a gravel drive, backwards into a parking space. Accossato presses the AGPA42 rear pad in the Organic material for this bike, article AGPA42OR, listed from 2019 to 2024. The maker describes the compound as long-lasting and gentle towards the disc it runs against.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Ducati Panigale V4 R, 2019 to 2024
- Article AGPA42OR: the AGPA42 pad in the Organic material
- Accossato promises long service and restrained wear on the disc
- Made for gentle, low-speed work rather than for session after session
- A single caliper at the back, so one box finishes the job
- The box contains two pads
- ST and ZXC use the identical carrier
- No German ABE in our records; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Two things are claimed for the Organic material, and both concern time rather than force. It is meant to keep delivering over a long period, and it is meant to treat the disc kindly. On the back of a machine like this the second claim is the interesting one, because the rear disc of a Panigale V4 R is rarely replaced and rarely even examined, so anything that slows its wear is quietly worth having. The pad body is the ordinary AGPA42, unchanged across the suffixes, and it drops into the caliper without any fuss.
Short Rides and Gentle Use
A machine that is used sparingly asks different questions of its brakes than one that is used hard. Nothing gets hot, but everything gets damp; nothing wears out, but a light film of rust forms on a disc that has stood for a fortnight and is scrubbed away in the first few applications of the next ride. The rear brake of a lightly used R does almost all its work at walking pace, holding the bike on a slope, steadying it while the front wheel is straightened on a gravel surface, keeping it still while the rider fishes for the side stand.
Storage habits matter more than riding habits here. Leave the bike dry if you can, take it out of the garage rather than starting it and leaving it, and before the first proper ride of the year press the pedal a few times to be sure the rear is awake. When the chain is next adjusted, glance at how much friction material is left and at the face of the disc; on a low-use Panigale V4 R that is often the only inspection the rear brake ever gets.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA42 for the rear wheel of the Panigale V4 R from 2019 to 2024, naming the 998 version in that entry. One caliper, one box, a complete change. The front of the same bike takes the AGPA106, catalogued a season longer to 2025, and the DKS036 is the disc offered for the model. Other Panigale variants appear under their own headings.
Road Approval
No ABE and no German test report are held for this article, so it is supplied for competition and closed-course use.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA42 pads in the Organic material, everything the single rear caliper of a Panigale V4 R requires.
