DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake earns its keep on a Multistrada 1260 Enduro in places where the front one is a liability. Gravel, a forest track, a wet slipway, a sloping car park with a full tank and two panniers: all of that is handled with the right foot. Accossato's rear pad for this Enduro is the AGPA93, and the Organic material in article AGPA93OR is described by the company as going the distance while being easy on the disc. The listing runs from 2019 to 2021.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro, 2019 to 2021
- Article AGPA93OR: the AGPA93 plate in the Organic material
- Accossato names long service and restrained wear at the disc
- Suited to fine control at low speed and on loose ground
- One caliper at the rear, so a single box completes the axle
- Two pads in that box, the set the rear caliper takes
- Sits alongside the AGPA177 front pad of the same model years
- No German ABE on file; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Two things are claimed for the Organic material and both are about the long run: it should keep working for a decent stretch of the bike's life, and it should treat the disc gently while doing so. On a machine that covers real distance with weight aboard, and whose rear disc is not a cheap item to replace, neither point is trivial. The plate underneath is the AGPA93, identical in every version of the article, so the choice of friction layer leaves the fit inside the caliper exactly where it was.
The Pedal on a Loose Surface
Standing on the pegs along a gravel road, the foot does most of the slowing. The front wheel is busy finding grip and you leave it alone, so a light, progressive drag at the rear is what settles the Multistrada 1260 Enduro into a bend and keeps it pointing where you looked. That asks for feel rather than force. A pedal that snatches makes the back step out; one that simply does what the ankle asks lets a heavy bike be ridden on a surface it was never quite built for.
The same holds at walking pace. Turning a loaded Enduro round in a narrow lane, or holding it against a slope while a pillion climbs off, is rear-brake work from beginning to end. Look after the parts that make it possible: check the friction material at every service, keep the disc clear of chain lubricant, clean the piston before pushing it back, and give a new set a few gentle applications before relying on it. Press the pedal until it goes solid again before the bike moves.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA93 at the rear wheel of the Multistrada 1260 Enduro from 2019 to 2021. There is one caliper back there, so a single box finishes the axle. At the front the catalogue shows the AGPA177 across an identical span of seasons, and the DKS053 is the Accossato disc quoted for this model. Owners of the 1200 Enduro will not find their machine in this entry.
Road Approval
Our records contain no ABE and no German test report for the AGPA93OR, so the pads are supplied for racing and closed-course use. That says nothing about how they work; it is simply what the paperwork lets us claim.
Scope of Delivery
One box holding two AGPA93 pads in the Organic material, the full set for the single rear caliper of the Multistrada 1260 Enduro.
