A Hypermotard 950 SP is a tall machine with a short tail, and in town its back brake does more work than most owners would admit. It holds the bike at the lights on a camber, trims a little speed into a junction and steadies everything while a foot goes down. Accossato's AGPA42 rear pad in the Organic (OR) compound is the everyday choice for the SP of 2019 to 2024: a milder material aimed at ordinary use rather than at the stopwatch, fitted to the single caliper on the back wheel.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's note on the organic AGPA42 mentions two qualities: it goes on performing over a long period and it is easy on the disc running between the pads. Rear discs are slim and awkward to replace, so for anybody who keeps a bike for years the second point is worth as much as the first. There is one shape here and a choice of materials behind it; this article number is the gentle one. The box holds two pads, and since the back wheel of the SP has a single caliper, that box is the whole job.
Traffic Lights, Kerbs and a High Seat
The Hypermotard 950 SP sits high enough that stopping tidily in traffic becomes a small routine of its own. You pick the flattest part of the road, hold the machine on the pedal while the left boot comes down, and keep a trace of pressure there so nothing rolls back on the camber. Repeat that thirty times on the way across town and the rear pads see more cycles in a morning than the fronts manage in a week, all of them slow and none of them hot. That is the setting a soft material was made for, and it is exactly the setting in which a competition pad never wakes up at all. Fit a new set, then spend the first few junctions using the pedal deliberately so it beds against the disc.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list puts the AGPA42 on the rear wheel of the Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP from 2019 to 2024, and one box finishes that wheel. The front of the same bike takes the AGPA177 in whichever material suits the rider, two boxes at a time because of the twin calipers. The AGPA42 itself is also catalogued in a harder all-weather version and in a ceramic competition version, should the way you use the SP change.
Road Approval
Accossato has supplied us with no ABE and no other proof of approval for the AGPA42OR. As we cannot document it for road traffic, it is listed as a part for competition and closed circuits.
