DescriptionThe whole story▼

The rear brake of a supermoto leads a quieter life than the front, but on the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono it is the control that makes town riding pleasant. A tight turn in a one-way street, a slow filter between two queues, a halt on a slope with one boot down: all of it runs through the pedal. Accossato covers the rear wheel of the 698 Mono from 2024 to 2026 with the AGPP91 plate, and article AGPP91OR carries the Organic compound, which the maker ties to a long working life and to a disc that wears away slowly.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, 2024 to 2026
  • AGPP91OR: the Organic friction material on Accossato's AGPP91 plate
  • Credited by the maker with staying power and gentle disc wear
  • Drawn for low-speed control rather than for heat
  • Two pads in the box, which is one rear caliper
  • The same plate is also pressed in ST and STMX
  • At the front, the AGPA177 covers the same model years
  • No German ABE recorded; supplied for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The AGPP91 exists in three faces and this is the mildest of them. Accossato makes two claims for it, one about duration and one about the disc: material that keeps working over a long stretch of riding, and a rate of wear on the steel low enough that the disc is not sacrificed to the pads. Both suit a 698 Mono used mainly on the road, where the rear brake is applied constantly, gently and at low temperature, and where an owner would far rather replace pads than discs.

Slow Speed, Full Lock

Riders who came to the Hypermotard 698 Mono from dirt machines tend to use the rear brake more than anybody else, and in town that habit pays. Dragging the pedal lightly with the bars at full lock steadies a tall, light motorcycle at walking pace, and it is the difference between a neat turn in a narrow street and a foot down halfway round. The friction faces barely warm during work of that kind, so what counts is a compound that answers predictably from cold, which is exactly where Accossato has aimed this one.

The Dirtiest Corner of the Bike

The rear caliper of a supermoto sits low, close to the wheel and in line with everything the tyre throws up. On a 698 Mono that argues for a quick look whenever the chain is adjusted: how much material remains, whether the disc has picked up a lip, whether anything oily has found its way onto a friction surface. Change both pads at once, keep lubricant clear of the disc, and give a new set some deliberate stops before it is needed in traffic.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato records the AGPP91 for the rear wheel of the Hypermotard 698 Mono across 2024, 2025 and 2026. The rear caliper takes the pair in the box. The front of the same machine is served by the AGPA177 over the identical span, so an owner renewing both ends orders two different numbers. For a 698 Mono that sees rain or loose ground rather than city streets, this plate also comes in ST and STMX.

Road Approval

No German ABE has been issued to us for the AGPP91OR and no test documents came with it, so it is sold as a competition part rather than as road equipment.

Scope of Delivery

One box containing two AGPP91 pads in the Organic compound, the pair for the rear caliper.
