DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a naked roadster leads a quiet life. It steadies the machine at walking pace, holds it on a slope at the lights and trims a little speed before a roundabout without anybody thinking about it. Nobody boasts about a rear brake, and very few people inspect one, which is how a rear pad ends up worn through. Accossato lists the AGPA29 for the rear wheel of the CFMOTO NK 800 from 2024 to 2026, and in the Organic material, article AGPA29OR, it is the version credited with a long working life and with treating the disc gently.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the CFMOTO NK 800, 2024 to 2026
- AGPA29OR: the AGPA29 shape in the Organic material
- Accossato names long service life and restrained wear of the disc
- The rear wheel runs one caliper, so one box completes the axle
- Two pads in the box, the pair the caliper closes onto
- The same shape is also pressed in ST, STMX and EV1
- Front pads for this machine: AGPA96 for 2024 to 2026, AGPA106 for 2024
- No German ABE on record, so a part for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
A plate is only half an article; the friction layer decides the rest. Accossato asks two things of the Organic material: that it should last rather than disappear inside a season, and that it should be considerate towards the disc behind it. At the rear of an NK 800 the second point is quietly useful, because a rear disc gets measured about as often as the rear pads get looked at, which is to say almost never, and usually only when something else has brought the wheel out anyway.
The Brake That Never Gets Looked At
Rear pads wear slowly and then all at once. Because the pedal is used lightly and often, the material goes down with no change in feel worth noticing, and the first symptom many riders get is a noise from the back of the bike at car park speed. One habit prevents it. Every time the chain is cleaned, crouch down with a torch and look into the rear caliper: how much material is left on each pad, whether one side has gone down faster than the other, and whether the disc face still looks even.
When the moment comes, take both pads out together, clean the piston before it is pushed back, and keep chain lubricant off the disc, which is easy to spray past when the NK 800 gets its weekly attention. Afterwards press the pedal repeatedly until it firms up, before the bike comes off the stand rather than after.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA29 for the rear wheel of the NK 800 through 2024, 2025 and 2026. That wheel has a single caliper, so one box covers the whole axle. At the front the catalogue carries two articles, the AGPA96 across the same three seasons and the AGPA106 for 2024 alone, which is worth settling against the caliper rather than the year. This shape appears under other machines in Accossato's list as well, so quote the article number when you order rather than the name of the bike.
Road Approval
For the AGPA29OR we have neither a German ABE nor any test documentation, and so the pads are sold for racing and closed-course use.
Scope of Delivery
A box with two AGPA29 pads in the Organic material, which is the full set for the single rear caliper.
