DescriptionThe whole story▼
Loading an MT 800 for a trip involves a great deal of moving the bike two metres at a time: off the centre stand, round on the drive, backwards down a slope with panniers fitted and a top box that changes how it balances. The rear brake does most of that work, at a pace where nothing gets warm. Accossato's AGPA29OR pairs the AGPA29 rear shape with the Organic compound for the CFMOTO MT 800 of 2022 to 2026, and calls it a material that lasts and treats the disc kindly.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the CFMOTO MT 800, 2022 to 2026
- AGPA29OR: the AGPA29 rear shape in the Organic compound
- Accossato's claims for it are endurance and a gentle effect on the disc
- Suited to loaded manoeuvring and to control at walking pace
- The box holds the two pads a rear caliper uses
- The front wheel of the MT 800 is covered by the AGPA96 for the same years
- ST, STMX and EV1 are the other versions of this shape
- No German ABE in our files; offered for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Underneath the friction material the AGPA29 is the same part in every version, and OR is the gentlest of the four. Accossato's description covers two points, working life and the disc, and both count for something at the rear of a touring machine. A rear disc on a loaded MT 800 does a great deal of low-speed work, and low-speed work is where pad and disc grind away at each other without ever getting warm enough to clear themselves. A compound that keeps its substance in those conditions saves the owner a job nobody enjoys.
Two Metres at a Time
A fully packed adventure bike is heavier than it looks and taller than most riders would like. Getting it out of a garage, onto a ferry or into a hotel courtyard is a sequence of short manoeuvres with a foot on the pedal, the clutch slipping and the machine leaning further than its rider would choose out on the road. In that situation the rear brake is not stopping anything; it is holding a balance, and what it has to do is answer the ankle in small, predictable steps instead of arriving all at once.
Rear pads report their condition to nobody, so the inspection has to be deliberate. When the chain gets its attention, look through the caliper at both pads and compare them, because the inner one usually wears faster and is the harder of the two to see. Clean the piston face before it is pushed home, keep spray lubricant away from the disc, and once the wheel is in, press the pedal repeatedly until it comes up hard. A gentle first outing lets fresh material take the shape of the disc.
Fitment and Compatibility
At the back the AGPA29 covers the same span as the front pad, 2022 to 2026, with the Sport across all of it, the Explorer from 2024 and the Touring in its single 2022 season. One box is a rear caliper's pair, so one box finishes the axle, while the front of the MT 800 is counted separately and served by the AGPA96. Both pads in the caliper are renewed together even if only one of them looks worn. Accossato does not list a brake disc for this machine.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor test documentation exists here for the AGPA29OR, so it is sold as a competition part and not as equipment for the public road.
Scope of Delivery
