DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most of a rear brake's life is spent below walking pace. Pulling a BMW R1250R out of a tight parking space, turning it round in a narrow street, holding it steady while the clutch comes out on an uphill junction: none of that is dramatic, but it is constant, and it is all done with the pedal. Accossato's Organic (OR) version of the AGPA92 rear pad is drawn for that sort of duty on the roadster of 2019 to 2024, with a long working life and a gentle effect on the disc as the qualities the company names.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the BMW R1250R, 2019 to 2024
- AGPA92OR: the Organic (OR) material on the AGPA92 outline
- Accossato names long life and light treatment of the disc
- One box, two pads, the full content of the rear caliper
- Nothing else is needed to finish the rear wheel
- ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC are the firmer materials on this shape
- The front wheel of this model is covered by the AGPA177
- No German ABE on record; for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Of the materials Accossato offers on this outline, the Organic (OR) one is the mildest. The company makes two claims for it and both are practical: it goes on working for a long time, and it is easy on the disc running through it. A rear disc that survives two or three sets of pads is money saved, and the quieter behaviour of a soft material at low speed is a bonus many riders notice at the first set of lights. Fitting is identical to every other AGPA92, and a box holds the two pads the rear caliper needs.
Walking Pace and Tight Turns
Slow manoeuvring is a skill, and the rear brake is the tool that makes it possible. The technique taught in every riding school is the same: a little throttle, the clutch held at its biting point, and a steady pressure on the pedal to keep everything in check while the bars go to full lock. Done well, a heavy roadster can be turned round in the width of a quiet street. Done without the rear brake, the same turn becomes a series of lurches. All this work happens at low speed with the material barely warm, which is where a softer pad is at its most predictable. If the pedal ever feels vague in traffic, look first at whether the caliper is free to slide and the pistons are clean, since neither has anything to do with the pad itself.
Fitment and Compatibility
The entry covers the rear wheel of the R1250R between 2019 and 2024. One caliper does the work there, so one box completes the job, and both pads go in as a pair. Once everything is back together, press the pedal a few times before riding away so the pistons close up against the disc. The front wheel of the R1250R takes the AGPA177 over the same years, Accossato offers the DK006 as its disc, and the four firmer materials on this outline are there for riders who ask more of the rear brake.
Road Approval
The AGPA92OR reaches us without a German ABE and without a test report, so nothing documents it for the public road. It is offered for circuit and competition riding.
