DescriptionThe whole story▼

City riding is made of small movements. Creeping between queues, holding position at a light on a slope, easing forward a length at a time towards a junction: on a BMW F900R all of that happens on the rear brake, with the clutch just biting and the front lever untouched. Accossato's AGPP91 rear pad is listed for the F900R of 2020 to 2026, and this article number carries the Organic (OR) material, the gentlest and longest-lived of the three offered on that plate.

Key Features

  • Rear brake pads for the BMW F900R, model years 2020 to 2026
  • AGPP91 plate in the Organic (OR) material, article number AGPP91OR
  • The maker's argument here is endurance, of the pad and of the disc behind it
  • Fine, progressive pedal feel for slow-speed work
  • One box holds both pads for the single rear caliper
  • ST and STMX versions of the same plate exist for other conditions
  • The front of this bike is covered by the AGPA177
  • No German ABE on record; sold for track and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

The rear pad of a road bike does less work than the front but has a harder life, low down where the wheel throws everything at it. Accossato's argument for the organic material is endurance, of the pad itself and of the disc behind it, and on a rear brake that is dragged at low speed rather than used hard both parts are welcome. Rear discs are slim, and a mix that wears them quickly announces itself as a pulse under the boot long before anyone thinks to measure anything. The box holds two plates, which is the whole set for the rear caliper of the F900R.

Stop and Go in Traffic

Riders who use a motorcycle in a city develop a way of moving that has little in common with a country road. You are on and off the rear brake constantly, holding the bike still without putting a foot down, balancing against the clutch at walking pace, and adjusting your position in a queue by inches. It is the rear brake that makes that possible, and a pedal that answers in fine steps is worth more in traffic than any amount of outright power. An F900R is well suited to the job, narrow and upright, though its riding position puts weight forward, so a rear brake grabbed at low speed will lock the wheel before you have registered it. Two habits keep this end of the bike honest. Set the pedal so that the ball of your foot rests on it naturally with your boot on the peg, and clean the rear caliper and its carrier once in a while, since city grit collects there and pads that cannot slide freely wear at an angle and drag when you are off the pedal.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names the AGPP91 for the rear wheel of the BMW F900R from 2020 through 2026, and one box completes that end of the machine. Pads are worth treating an axle at a time: when the rear is due, take the chance to look at the front, where the AGPA177 covers the same model years in four materials. The DK006 and DK007 are the discs the firm lists for the F900R.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no test report have reached us for the AGPP91OR. We therefore offer it for competition and for riding on closed courses.

Scope of Delivery

Two Accossato AGPP91 pads in the Organic (OR) material, together the complete set for the rear caliper.
