DescriptionThe whole story▼
Buy a used Benelli BN302 and the seller will tell you about the tyres, the chain and the service book. The rear brake is rarely mentioned, and it is often the part that has been ignored for longest. Accossato's Organic (OR) compound on the AGPP95 rear plate is an easy way to put that right on a BN302 of 2015 to 2019: a mild material the firm credits with a long working life and a light touch on the disc.
Key Features
- Rear brake pads for the Benelli BN302, model years 2015 to 2019
- Accossato AGPP95 shape in the Organic (OR) compound, article number AGPP95OR
- Long service life and gentle disc wear, as stated by the maker
- Covers the versions Accossato names, from the BN 302 to the 302 S
- Two pads per box, which is what one caliper takes
- The ST compound is the second material on this rear plate
- AGPA270 front pads and the DKS032 disc complete the catalogue for this bike
- No German ABE on record; for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
This is a small pad with a simple job, and Accossato offers it in two materials. The organic one is described in the plainest terms the catalogue uses: it performs for a long time, and it does not eat the disc. For the back of a bike that may have covered several owners' worth of town riding, both properties are welcome, and neither asks anything unusual of the rider. As always the box contains a pair of pads, the quantity that fills one caliper and the quantity you need if the rear wheel carries a single one.
What a Second-Hand 302 Hides
Rear brakes fail quietly. A pad worn to its backing plate will still slow the bike a little, so the rider adjusts without noticing, and by the time the pedal feels wrong the disc has picked up marks that will not polish out. On a machine that has passed through several hands it is the first place worth looking, along with the state of the caliper and whether its piston still moves freely in its bore rather than sticking half out.
The work itself is straightforward on a BN302. Take the wheel out or the caliper off, look at what is left on both pads, clean the piston and the carrier before anything is pushed back, and check the fluid in the small reservoir behind the frame, because it ages whether the brake is used or not. Fit the new pair, pump the pedal until it comes up firm, and use light applications for the first part of the ride so the material beds in evenly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato assigns the AGPP95 to the rear wheel of the BN302 for the seasons 2015 to 2019, which in its own list covers the BN 302, the Tornado of 2016, the R and the S. There is typically one caliper to fill at the back, so one box does the job on most bikes of this type; look at yours to be certain. Front pads are catalogued as the AGPA270 for the same years, the DKS032 disc is listed for this machine, and the ST material is the other choice on this plate.
Road Approval
Our records contain no ABE and no test report for this rear pad, and we will not imply approval we cannot document. The AGPP95OR is sold for competition and circuit use.
