DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha SR400 is a simple, kick-started single with classic looks, and most owners ride it gently: short trips into town, Sunday rides through the lanes, the occasional meet-up with other classic-style bikes. Accossato front pad AGPA71 in the Organic (OR) compound fits that way of riding. Accossato lists AGPA71 for the SR400 from 2014 to 2016. OR is the quiet, disc-friendly compound, suited to a light bike that rarely gets its brakes hot.
Key Features
- Front pad AGPA71 in Organic (OR) compound
- For the Yamaha SR400, 2014-2016
- Accossato: longer performance, limited disc wear
- Soft bite that suits a light classic single
- Works well on short, cool rides
- Two pads, one front caliper
- Also offered in ST
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says its Organic compound keeps working for a long time and limits wear on the disc. For an SR400 owner who wants to keep the bike original and running costs low, that is a sensible match. Accossato's general claims for its pads, slow wear, reduced fading through limited heat and strong stopping, are included as the manufacturer's words.
A Classic Single in Town
The SR400 is light and simple, and its front disc does most of the stopping. On short rides the brake stays cool, so a pad that bites from cold is more useful than one that needs heat. OR is designed for that, and its quiet operation suits a bike often ridden slowly through town. The SR400's appeal is its simplicity, and a pad that just works quietly fits that approach. For riders who ride through the wet months, ST is the alternative.
Front Brake Care
When changing pads, clean around the piston before pushing it back, check the disc for wear and replace the fluid if it has darkened. Bed the new pads in with a series of gentle stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA71 for the SR 400 from 2014 to 2016. The SR400 has one front caliper, so one box covers the whole front brake. Accossato does not list a rear pad for the SR400, as the rear brake of this model is a drum. The same AGPA71 pad is also listed for the SCR950.
Road Approval
AGPA71OR has no ABE, and we hold no test documents. It is offered for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
