DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha dressed the MT-09 in rally-flavoured clothing for the Street Rally edition, which Accossato lists for the model years 2014 to 2016. The mechanicals underneath are those of the three-cylinder naked, and so is the front pad: the AGPA97. This box contains the AGPA97OR in Organic (OR) compound, a front pad for Street Rally owners who spend most of their time on urban streets and suburban roads and want soft, silent stops and discs that stay in good health.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-09 Street Rally, 2014 to 2016
- Article AGPA97OR, made in the Organic (OR) compound
- Accossato: longer performance and less wear on the disc
- Fits a Street Rally used for town and suburban riding
- A box holds two pads, one caliper's set
- Two calipers at the front, so plan on two boxes
- Alternatives on the same plate: ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE with us; offered for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
This is Accossato's organic material on the AGPA97 backing. The maker's promise is compact: the pad keeps performing over a long period and spares the disc. For an older Street Rally, where replacement discs may be harder to find than they once were, a compound that looks after them is a practical choice. Accossato's overall approach, moderate operating temperatures and so less fade, applies to this pad as it does to the rest of the range.
Looking After an Older Triple
The youngest Street Rally is now around ten years old, and bikes of that age benefit from a careful brake inspection whenever pads are changed. Look at the flexible hoses for cracks or bulges near the fittings, check that the pistons move smoothly and are not pitted, and find out when the fluid was last replaced. Discs that have been in service since new may be close to their minimum thickness. Fitting fresh organic pads onto sound components gives a smooth, quiet brake for everyday riding. If any part looks doubtful, replace it at the same time rather than waiting.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato fits the AGPA97 to the front of the Yamaha MT-09 Street Rally for 2014 to 2016, and the AGPP88 to its rear. The Street Rally uses two front calipers, so two boxes are needed, and both should be renewed at the same session. Clean the pistons before pressing them back, measure the discs, and change the fluid if its age is unknown. Accossato's DK077 and DKS073 discs are also listed for this bike.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE, test certificate or approval mark for this pad. The AGPA97OR is therefore offered for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
