DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha FZ1 Fazer combines a powerful four-cylinder engine with a half fairing and an upright riding position, and many examples have become everyday bikes for experienced riders. For owners who use theirs to commute and for relaxed rides, Accossato offers the AGPA97 front pad in Organic (OR) compound. Accossato says it delivers long-lasting performance and limits disc wear. The listing covers the FZ1 1000 Fazer from 2006 to 2016.
Key Features
- Accossato AGPA97 front pad in Organic (OR) compound
- For the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, 2006-2016
- Accossato: durable performance and reduced disc wear
- Smooth, progressive bite for daily riding
- Quiet in town and on commutes
- Box contains two pads for one front caliper
- AGPA97 also offered as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's organic compound is designed for longevity and for treating the disc gently. On an older bike like the FZ1 Fazer, where the original discs may already have covered many miles, that helps keep them in service. The manufacturer also claims the general strengths of its pads: low wear, limited heat build-up that reduces fade and effective stopping power.
A Big Four as a Daily Bike
The FZ1 Fazer has plenty of performance, but in daily life most of its stops are ordinary ones: traffic lights, roundabouts, queues on the way to work. For that kind of riding, the brakes rarely get hot, and an organic pad gives a smooth, predictable bite from cold. It also tends to run quietly. Owners who ride an older Fazer as their commuter will appreciate the gentle treatment of the discs, which can delay the cost of replacements. Of the five compounds Accossato offers for AGPA97, this is the calm, everyday option; ST suits all-weather touring, EV1 faster road riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the front of the FZ1 1000 Fazer from 2006 to 2016 and AGPP88 for the rear. The Fazer has two front calipers, so two boxes are needed for a complete front change. Change both sides together, clean the pistons before pushing them back and keep the disc surfaces clean. Pump the lever until firm and bed the pads in with gentle stops.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or German test paperwork for AGPA97OR; it is offered for racing use.
