DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Triumph Tiger 800 XC is the spoked-wheel, long-travel version of the middleweight Tiger, and plenty of them spend their lives on commutes, errands and weekday tarmac rather than on gravel. For owners who use the bike like that, Accossato makes the AGPA72 front pad in its Organic (OR) compound. It is intended for riders whose brakes rarely get hot, who start most journeys with a cold bike and who would rather look after the front discs than chase outright bite. Accossato lists this pad for the Tiger 800 XC from 2011 to 2017.
Key Features
- Accossato AGPA72 front pad in the Organic (OR) compound
- Listed for the Triumph Tiger 800 XC, 2011-2017, including the ABS model of 2012-2014
- Manufacturer claim: longer-lasting performance and reduced disc wear
- Aimed at daily riding, short trips and town traffic
- Gentle on the discs of a high-mileage adventure bike
- Box holds two pads for one front caliper
- Same pad shape also offered as ST, EV1 and EV2
Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, the organic mix is formulated to keep performing over a long service life while taking less material off the disc. That is the whole brief of this compound: it trades nothing for spectacle and asks for nothing in return except regular inspection. Like all Accossato pads, it is designed for low wear, limited heat build-up and therefore less fade, and a strong stop when needed. The company started in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969 and still makes its parts in the Turin area.
An Adventure Bike That Mostly Commutes
A good share of Tiger 800 XC owners bought the bike for its upright position and its ability to shrug off potholes, then ended up riding it to work every day. That pattern is exactly where organic pads make sense. The first few stops of the morning happen with cold brakes, often at walking pace in traffic, and an organic pad bites cleanly from the moment you pull away. It also tends to run quietly, which you notice at junctions and in underground car parks. Because the discs on an older XC may already have plenty of miles on them, a compound that treats them kindly can postpone the cost of new rotors. If your riding moves towards loaded touring in all weathers, the ST version of AGPA72 is the natural alternative.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA72 for the Tiger 800 XC (2011-2017) and specifically for the ABS model of 2012-2014. The Tiger 800 XC uses two front calipers, so a complete front change needs two boxes. Replace both sides at the same time, push the pistons back only after cleaning them, and keep brake cleaner and fingers away from the disc faces. Pump the lever until it is firm before the first ride, then bed the pads in with a series of gentle stops.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or other German approval documents for the AGPA72OR. The pad is therefore sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box: two Accossato AGPA72 pads in the Organic (OR) compound, enough for one front caliper.
