DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Triumph Thunderbird Storm is the 1700 cruiser with a darker, more urban look, and Accossato lists its front pad AGPA58 for the Storm from 2011 to 2018. AGPA58OR uses the Organic compound. It is intended for owners who ride the Storm to work, through evening traffic and on short errands, and who prefer a front brake with a soft, quiet engagement that bites cleanly even before it has warmed up.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA58 for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm, 2011 to 2018
- Organic compound, SKU AGPA58OR
- Accossato: longer-lasting performance and low disc wear
- Clean response from a cold start
- Quiet in stop-and-go commuting
- Treats the front discs gently
- Other compounds on this pad: ST, EV1 and EV2
- No approval documents; listed for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of the Organic compound is short: performance that lasts and a disc that wears less. For the front of a heavy commuter cruiser, both matter. Rotors are costly, and a pad that abrades them slowly keeps the bill for the next service lower. Accossato also designs its pads to restrict heat build-up so that fade stays low.
Commuting on a Big Cruiser
Riding a Storm into the city means lots of slow, short stops. The brake barely warms before you arrive, so the first squeeze on a chilly morning is a cold one. A pad that responds straight away, without a noisy or grabby start, makes that routine calmer. Organic pads are also forgiving for riders who have recently moved up to a big machine: the bite builds gradually as you pull the lever, which helps when you are still learning how much the bike weighs under braking.
Quiet Running
Squeal at every junction becomes tiring on a daily ride. Keep the pad backs and caliper clean, bed the pads in with gentle stops and avoid touching the disc surface with greasy fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA58 for the front of the Thunderbird 1700 Storm across 2011 to 2018. For the rear of the Storm, the maker names AGPA92 over the same years. Each box contains pads for one caliper, so check how many front calipers your Storm has before ordering. Change pads on the whole axle and pump the lever until it feels solid.
Road Approval
We do not hold a German ABE or any test mark for AGPA58OR, so this pad is offered for competition use.
