DescriptionThe whole story▼
A well-kept Suzuki SV650 S from the early 2000s is one of the most sensible second-hand bikes around, and many riders buy one as an affordable, characterful V-twin to ride at weekends and to work. Accossato lists its AGPA94 front pad for the SV650 across 1999 to 2012 and again from 2016 to 2021, and in the Organic compound it carries the SKU AGPA94OR. It suits owners of a used SV650 who are refreshing the brakes and want a soft, economical pad that spares the discs.
Key Features
- AGPA94 front pad for the Suzuki SV650, 1999 to 2012 and 2016 to 2021
- Organic compound, SKU AGPA94OR
- Accossato: lasting performance, reduced disc wear
- Gentle, gradual response
- A sensible refresh for a used SV650
- Quiet running on the daily ride
- ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC are also listed
- No ABE on file; sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The Organic mixture, Accossato says, is made to keep its braking effect over a long life while limiting the wear it causes on the disc. For an older SV650 whose discs may already have covered many miles, a pad that treats them gently helps them last a little longer. The firm also designs the compound to control heat and give a dependable stop.
Refreshing a Used SV650
Buyers of a second-hand SV650 S often start with a list: tyres, chain, fluids and brakes. Old pads may be glazed or worn unevenly, and the fluid is frequently overdue. Fitting a fresh set of Organic pads, together with new fluid, brings back a smooth and predictable front brake that suits relaxed everyday riding.
Before fitting, measure the discs; if they are close to their wear limit, new pads alone will not solve the problem.
Doing the Job
Clean both calipers thoroughly, since years of road dirt can make the pistons stick. Push the pistons back carefully, replace the pads on both sides together and pump the lever until it is firm. Bed the pads in with a series of gentle stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA94 for the SV 650 S from 1999 to 2002 and from 2003 to 2012, and for the SV 650 from 2016 to 2021; the years 2013 to 2015 are not covered, as the SV650 was not in the range then. Accossato also lists AGPA95 for largely the same versions, so compare the shape of your old pads before ordering. The SV650 has two front calipers, so a full change needs two boxes.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or German approval for AGPA94OR in our records; we offer it for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
