The first KTM 1290 Super Adventure, built for the 2015 and 2016 model years, is a large V-twin tourer that many owners use as a daily machine as much as a holiday bike. These are Accossato front pads with the reference AGPA96, supplied in the Organic compound. We suggest them to riders whose Super Adventure covers commutes, school runs and errands in town, who brake often and gently rather than hard, and who would like the front discs to stay in good condition for as long as possible.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato presents the Organic version of the AGPA96 with two claims: it keeps performing over a long period, and it treats the disc kindly. For a heavy touring machine that is ridden every working day, that is a practical combination, because both pads and rotors are wear parts that cost money to replace. The friction layer sits on the standard AGPA96 backing plate, so the caliper sees no difference in shape whichever compound you choose. The Italian firm, founded in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969, also claims controlled heat build-up and steady stopping power for its pads.
Everyday Traffic on a Big Tourer
A lot of Super Adventure riding happens below motorway speed: roundabouts, traffic lights, a supermarket car park, a narrow lane behind a tractor. In that environment the brakes work cold most of the time, and a pad that bites predictably from the first squeeze is worth more than one that needs temperature. The Organic face gives a gentle initial response that builds as you pull harder, which helps when you are trickling through slow queues on a tall, heavy bike.
Noise is the other everyday factor. Commuters notice a squealing front brake every morning, and a softer compound usually runs quietly. When fitting, clean the pistons before you push them back, keep the disc free of grease and fingerprints, and pump the lever until it is firm before rolling off the driveway. Bed the new pair in with a series of calm stops on a quiet road.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA96 for the front brake of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure in the 2015 and 2016 model years only. The Super Adventure uses two front calipers on twin discs, so a full front change needs two boxes. At the back, the matching Accossato part for these years is the AGPA29. The same AGPA96 shape is also offered as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or approval mark for this pad, so the AGPA96OR is offered for racing and competition use.
