DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 pairs a large single-cylinder engine with a slim, upright chassis, and many owners use it as a characterful everyday bike rather than a weekend toy. For that kind of riding Accossato makes the front pad AGPA96 in its Organic compound, SKU AGPA96OR, listed for model years 2019 to 2021. It is intended for riders who cover regular distances on it, who like a smooth, quiet lever at low speed, and who would rather not renew the front disc any sooner than necessary.
Key Features
- AGPA96 front pads in the Organic compound
- Husqvarna Svartpilen 701, model years 2019 to 2021
- Accossato highlights long service life and light disc wear
- Smooth bite straight from cold
- Low noise in slow traffic
- Also offered as ST, EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- For racing use, no ABE held
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Organic mixture as long-lasting and gentle on the disc. On the Svartpilen 701, which can be ridden hard and then used for a quiet commute the next day, that emphasis on longevity keeps running costs in check. The friction layer is bonded to the AGPA96 backing, matched to the caliper it replaces. The maker also refers to good stopping power and modest heat build-up, keeping the lever even through a series of traffic stops.
The Big Single as a Daily Rider
A big single delivers strong engine braking, so in town much of the slowing happens on the throttle, and the front brake is used lightly and often. The Organic face suits that pattern: it works immediately without heat, gives a soft initial bite and builds progressively. That makes the Svartpilen 701 easy to handle at walking pace, in a queue or when easing into a parking space, and the quieter operation adds a little refinement to a bike with plenty of mechanical character.
Inspect the disc for grooves when fitting new pads, and wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth and brake cleaner.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato assigns AGPA96 to the front caliper of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 for 2019 to 2021; its own catalogue line starts with 2018. For the rear there is AGPP91, and Accossato also offers the disc DK209 for this bike. Check how many front calipers your Svartpilen 701 carries and compare the old pads with this set before fitting.
Road Approval
We do not hold an ABE or test certificate for AGPA96OR, so it is listed for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two Organic pads in one box, a set for one caliper.
