DescriptionThe whole story▼
The current Honda Gold Wing, launched for 2018, is a large six-cylinder luxury tourer designed to cover long distances in comfort, alone or two-up. For its front brakes, from 2018 to 2026, Accossato lists the AGPA790 shape, here in the Organic (OR) mixture. This version is aimed at Gold Wing owners who ride steadily and smoothly, who value quiet operation and gentle treatment of the discs, and who cover big mileages at relaxed pace rather than hunting for late stopping points.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Honda GL1800 Gold Wing, 2018 to 2026
- Article AGPA790OR, AGPA790 shape with an Organic face
- Accossato promises long pad life and limited disc wear
- Quiet, smooth engagement suited to a luxury tourer
- Soft initial bite that makes gentle stops easy
- One box covers one caliper; the Gold Wing has two at the front
- Also produced as ST on the same shape
- No ABE documents; offered for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's words for OR are longer performance and limited disc wear. On a heavy tourer with two large front discs, the cost of rotors is considerable, so a mixture that looks after them makes sense for riders who do not need maximum bite. The Organic lining also works well from cold and tends to run quietly. Accossato adds its general claims of long service, strong stopping power and restrained heat build-up to limit fade.
Smooth Miles on a Big Tourer
Riding a Gold Wing well is about anticipation: rolling off early, braking gently and bringing a passenger to a halt without heads nodding forward. OR supports that style. The lever response builds in proportion to the pull, so the rider can feather speed off into a village or a toll booth with precision. It fits owners who tour at an even pace across long days.
With a machine this heavy, maintenance matters. Change pads on both front calipers together, check fluid and disc condition at every service, and clean the pistons before retracting them. Pump the lever to full pressure after fitting and bed the pads in gradually.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA790 for the front of these versions: GL 1800 Goldwing (2018 to 2026), Goldwing J (2018 to 2025), Goldwing Tour (2018 to 2024), Goldwing Tour J (2018 to 2025) and Goldwing Tour M (2018 to 2024). The Gold Wing has two front calipers, so you need two boxes for a full front change. For the rear, Accossato offers AGPP246 and AGPP88; check which your version uses.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or German test mark for the AGPA790OR. It is sold for track and competition use.
