Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the AGPA240 in several friction materials, and this box holds the organic one. The manufacturer's own claim for it is short: it keeps working for a long time and it goes easy on the disc. In practice an organic material bites cleanly from the first touch of the lever, before any heat has built up, which is how most urban stops begin. It also tends to run more quietly than harder materials. Accossato adds that its pads are designed to limit how hot they get, which keeps fade away; on a bike that spends most of its time between traffic lights, that heat rarely becomes an issue at all.
Cold Starts and Short Hops
The typical weekday for a CB1000 Hornet in town looks nothing like a test ride. The engine is barely warm when the first junction arrives, the discs are at the temperature of the garage, and the stops that follow are short, frequent and gentle: a roundabout, a pedestrian crossing, a queue that shuffles forward in first gear. Under these conditions the brake is asked for feel rather than raw power. A pad that responds evenly while cold lets the rider modulate the lever with two fingers and roll to a halt without the nose diving. Over months of this use the gentleness of the organic compound towards the discs pays off, because the original rotors on the Hornet are costly parts and every bit of thickness they keep is money saved. Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA240 at the front of the Honda CB1000 Hornet from 2025 to 2026. The Hornet carries a caliper on each side of the front wheel and each box covers only one of them, so order two boxes and change both sides together; a fresh set on one caliper and worn pads on the other would pull unevenly. At the rear the same catalogue gives the AGPP185 for the identical years.
Road Approval
