DescriptionThe whole story▼
Pads are cheap and discs are not, which is worth remembering when a Dorsoduro 750 has been in the family for a decade. The supermoto-styled twin invites a firm hand on the front brake, and the material you choose decides how much steel comes off the friction rings over the years. Accossato's Organic (OR) version of the AGPA101 front pad is the mildest in the range, built for owners of the 2009 to 2018 Dorsoduro who intend to keep the bike and would rather renew pads than discs.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, model years 2009 to 2018
- Article number AGPA101OR, the Organic (OR) member of the AGPA101 family
- Accossato names a long service life and reduced disc wear as its qualities
- Two pads in one box, which is the set for a single caliper
- The Dorsoduro brakes on two front calipers, so a full change needs two boxes
- Firmer materials in the same shape: ST, EV1 and EV2
- Rear pads for this bike are listed as AGPP91
- No German ABE on record; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
All four AGPA101 versions carry the same steel and the same outline, and the friction material is the whole story. Accossato's organic mixture is the gentle one, credited by the company with two things: it keeps going for a long time before it needs attention, and it is easier on the disc than a harder material would be. Its working range suits the temperatures ordinary riding produces rather than those a circuit generates. In the box you will find a pair of pads, which is what one caliper takes.
Pads, Discs and What They Cost You
A brake is a system in which one part is deliberately sacrificed to save another. The pads are meant to wear; the disc is meant to last through several sets of them. How well that arrangement works depends partly on the material and largely on the owner. Pads run down to the backing will score a disc deeply in a single ride, so check the friction thickness on both sides of the wheel at every chain adjustment rather than waiting for a noise. Wash the wheels with plain water and keep sprays and lubricants off the rings, because a contaminated surface takes material from the pads at an alarming rate. And when you do fit new pads, bed them in with a series of moderate stops from moderate speed so that a clean, even layer forms before the first hard application.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA101 shape for the front wheel of the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 from 2009 to 2018. Because this bike carries a caliper behind each front disc and one box fills one caliper, a complete front change is a two-box job, and both sides belong on the bench at the same time. Riders wanting more from the material will find the ST, EV1 and EV2 article numbers in the same outline. For the rear wheel the range offers the AGPP91 pad, and the DKS032 floating disc is listed for the front of this Dorsoduro.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor any other approval certificate exists for the AGPA101OR in our documentation, so we are not able to present it as a part for public roads. It is sold for competition and circuit riding.
Scope of Delivery
A single box holding two AGPA101 pads in the Organic (OR) material, enough to fill one front caliper.
