DescriptionThe whole story▼
Spoked wheels, a tall screen and a bash plate under the engine give the V85TT 850 the look of a bike meant for gravel as much as tarmac, and a steering head on a machine like this takes knocks a pure road bike never sees. Accossato's SA006 is an open nut for that stem, aluminium threaded M29x1, anodised in seven colours, listed for the V85TT 850 of 2019.
Key Features
- Steering stem nut, open pattern, for the Moto Guzzi V85TT 850
- Accossato's year: 2019
- M29x1 thread
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Fixes the upper triple clamp to the steering stem
- Closed version SC006 also listed for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the SA006 from aluminium on CNC machines and anodises it afterwards in blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium or gold, a finish that takes a stone chip better than paint would in the same spot. The M29x1 thread is the one Accossato quotes, sized to the V85TT's steering stem, and because this is the open pattern, the stem's top and the thread it engages stay visible once the nut is torqued down, unlike the closed SC006 built for the same bike.
Loose Surfaces and a Loaded Front End
Riding the V85TT off sealed roads, a forest track or a loose gravel climb, loads the steering head with small, repeated impacts that a smooth motorway never delivers, and over years of that kind of use the bearings and the stem's fit are worth checking more often than on a purely road-going bike. When that check is due, the SA006 comes off and goes back on as part of the job, with the torque figures and bearing settings taken from the V85TT's own manual rather than carried over from another model. Once retightened, the open nut sits in plain view above the headlight, where mud and dust from the last ride tend to collect first and get noticed.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the SA006 for the Moto Guzzi V85TT 850 for 2019. This M29x1 thread is also behind the open nut on the Moto Guzzi California Audace 1400 and the Eldorado in our range. For the V85TT itself, Accossato also offers the closed SC006.
Road Approval
No ABE or test certificate is available to us for the SA006, so it is sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
