DescriptionThe whole story▼
Few middleweight supersports have as long a history as the ZX-6R, built in various forms from 1995 all the way through to 2019, spanning both the original 600cc engine and the later, larger 636. Its filler takes the larger M30x1.5 thread, and Accossato's FP005 fits it, CNC-machined aluminium anodised across eight colours.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Kawasaki ZX-6R, 1995 to 2019
- Covers both the 600cc and 636 engine generations
- Thread M30x1.5, a larger size than most Accossato fillers
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- TS005 front brake reservoir cap also listed for this bike
- No German ABE on file; for competition use
- A quarter-century of production covered by one application
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato bores the FP005 to M30x1.5, the thread size Kawasaki kept constant across both the original 600cc ZX-6R and the later, larger 636, machining it from aluminium on CNC equipment before anodising fixes the final colour. A middleweight supersport with history this long has seen plenty of club racers pass through its ownership, each adding their own colour scheme to a bike built fundamentally for exactly that kind of hard-working, trackday-ready use.
Twenty-Five Years, Two Engines, One Routine
Neither engine generation changes what a careful owner does before the filler ever comes off: the bike settled level, the engine given time to cool, the reading taken against the window rather than guessed at. Only once that is confirmed does the FP005 come out, to be replaced by hand and never forced, with a final glance underneath once the next outing on the road or circuit is finally done for the day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Nearly a quarter century, 1995 to 2019, sits under one unbroken application for the FP005, covering both the 600 and 636 eras of the ZX-6R name. The matching TS005 front reservoir cap suits the same bike and is worth ordering together with it. Reservoirs built to this same M30x1.5 specification also appear on the Kawasaki GTR 1400's own parts list, a much larger tourer sharing nothing else at all with a lightweight supersport beyond that one odd engineering coincidence of a precisely matching thread size and nothing further.
Road Approval
Accossato has not provided an ABE or comparable document for the FP005, so it is listed for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
