DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha's FJR1300AE, built from 2014 to 2018, carries an electronically adjustable suspension system that marks it out from the standard FJR1300A, though the oil filler at the top of its engine stays the same part regardless. Accossato's FP006, CNC-machined aluminium anodised in eight colours with an M26x3 thread, fits it accordingly.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Yamaha FJR1300AE, 2014 to 2018
- M26x3 thread, as given by Accossato
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish throughout
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Also fits other motorcycles with the same filler thread
- No other Accossato cap currently listed for this FJR1300AE
- A small detail on Yamaha's electronically adjustable tourer
- No German ABE on file; intended for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The FP006 comes off Accossato's CNC machines as shaped aluminium, with anodising afterwards giving it a colour that belongs to the metal rather than sitting over it. M26x3 is the one measurement stated, and nothing further is claimed beyond the cap suiting the AE and whatever shares its filler size. Titanium, black and silver sit quietly on an AE kept close to its launch colours, while a bolder shade gives the filler a lift the rest of the bike's understated styling rarely offers.
Electronics at the Back, a Plain Job at the Front
However sophisticated the electronically adjustable suspension on the AE gets, none of that complexity reaches as far as the filler cap, which remains one of the plainest jobs on the bike from start to finish. Let the engine cool properly first, note the level beforehand exactly as the manual sets it out with the bike upright, and brush away any dirt near the opening before the old cap lifts clear, since whatever sits there would otherwise drop straight into the oil. Check the thread and sealing face on both halves, pour any top-up gradually, and settle the FP006 home by hand only as far as it naturally stops. Another look at the filler once the next ride is finished confirms all is well.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's own sheet names the AE across its full 2014 to 2018 run for the FP006, the identical cap it also places against the FJR1300A, the FJR1300AS and several further Yamaha models, among them the FZ8 and the R6, wherever that M26x3 filler appears. No other Accossato deckel is currently listed for this particular AE.
Road Approval
Accossato has supplied no test or approval documents for the FP006, so Inter-Pace lists it for racing and closed-course use rather than the public road.
