DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha's YZF-R125, built from 2008 to 2018, gives learner riders sportsbike styling on a small, licence-friendly engine. Accossato's FP004 oil filler cap, CNC-machined aluminium anodised in eight colours with an M20x2.5 thread, fits that smaller engine's filler.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Yamaha YZF-R125, 2008 to 2018
- M20x2.5 thread, as given by Accossato
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Also fits other motorcycles with the same filler thread
- No other Accossato cap currently listed for this YZF-R125
- A first upgrade on a learner-friendly sportsbike
- No German ABE on file; intended for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato shapes the FP004 from aluminium on CNC equipment, finishing it with anodising that leaves the colour inside the metal rather than as a coat over it. The M20x2.5 thread is the single figure quoted; past it, the application list is what decides fit. A rider leaving the R125 in its factory colours picks titanium, black or silver, while orange, red, blue, green or gold give a small sportsbike a detail usually seen on bigger machines.
A First Upgrade on a Learner Bike
Many riders own the R125 as their first motorcycle outright, and a small job like swapping the filler cap often becomes the first piece of maintenance they tackle entirely on their own. Patience matters more than speed here: let the engine stand until it has properly cooled, and check the oil level beforehand in line with what the handbook describes, holding the bike level on its stand throughout. Brush any loose dirt away from the opening before the old cap comes loose, since it would otherwise fall straight into the filler, then look over the thread on both the cap and the housing it screws into. Any extra oil goes in slowly, and the FP004 is turned home with the fingers alone, never a tool, stopping as soon as it seats.
Fitment and Compatibility
Yamaha's YZF-R125 across its full 2008 to 2018 run sits on Accossato's own list for the FP004, a cap also named for the Ducati Hyperstrada 821 and a handful of Hypermotard versions, wherever that filler size appears. No other Accossato deckel is currently listed for this particular R125.
Road Approval
Accossato has given us no test or approval paperwork for the FP004, so it is offered for racing and closed-course use rather than German road use.
Scope of Delivery
