Construction and Material Quality
A block of aluminium goes onto Accossato's CNC machines to become the FP004, picking up its finish afterwards through anodising rather than a coat of paint added on top. The M20x2.5 thread is as far as the stated measurements go; past that, fit rests on checking the application list rather than any further figure. A buyer wanting to keep the bike looking factory-standard picks titanium, black or silver, while orange, red, blue, green or gold cost little extra for an owner who wants the filler to stand out.
An Everyday Triple, the Same Attention
Riding the Street Triple every day is no reason to treat the engine with any less care, and the filler cap is the first place that care shows. Wait until the engine has properly cooled before going near it, and take a level reading first, the way the handbook sets it out with the bike standing upright. A wipe around the opening before the old cap comes away keeps dirt out of the oil, and the thread and sealing face on the cap and the housing are worth checking while exposed. Pour any top-up gradually, settle the FP004 home by hand until it stops turning with ease, and stop there. A further look at the filler once the next ride is done confirms all is well.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's own application sheet names every Street Triple 675 built between 2013 and 2016 for the FP004, the same cap it also lists against the Ducati Diavel, Diavel Carbon and Monster 1200 ranges, plus several Hypermotard versions, wherever that filler size turns up. A rear brake fluid reservoir cap, the TS013, completes Accossato's listing for this particular Street Triple.
Road Approval
Accossato has sent us no test or approval paperwork for the FP004, so it is offered for racing and closed-course use rather than German road use.
