DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki took the Z1000's naked engine and wrapped it in a fairing for the Z1000SX, a sport-tourer built from 2010 to 2018 for riders wanting the same performance with more weather protection. The filler keeps the familiar M20x2.5 thread, and Accossato's FP004 fits it in CNC-machined aluminium, anodised across eight colours.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Kawasaki Z1000SX, 2010 to 2018
- Thread M20x2.5, the size Accossato quotes
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- TS005 front and TS013 rear brake reservoir caps also listed
- Shared thread size with several other manufacturers' bikes
- No German ABE on file; for competition and track use
- A full three-piece set available for this one motorcycle
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining shapes the FP004 from aluminium before anodising supplies one of eight colours, from quiet titanium and silver through to bright orange, red and gold. Where the naked Z1000 shows off its filler cap in plain sight, the Z1000SX's fairing tucks it away more discreetly, which can make the colour choice feel less urgent, though an owner who pops the bodywork open for a service will still notice and appreciate the detail every single time it comes off for a proper, thorough check of everything underneath.
Shared Engine, Different Priorities
A Z1000SX owner covering real distance tends to think about oil level differently to someone riding the naked Z1000 purely around town, checking it as part of trip preparation rather than an occasional afterthought. Read the level cold, on level ground, exactly as the handbook describes, and keep the filler area clean before it comes off. The FP004 then seats by hand, ready for whatever distance comes next, whether that means a short commute or a continental tour.
Fitment and Compatibility
Nine seasons on sale, 2010 to 2018, define this application for the Z1000SX's oil filler. A full three-part set is available for this bike too, since the TS005 front and TS013 rear brake reservoir caps are both separately listed for the same model. Thread size, not badge, is what puts several Ducati machines on the same FP004 list, the Diavel among them, bikes that share nothing else with a sport-touring Kawasaki.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or test paperwork for the FP004, so it is listed here for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
