An Africa Twin spends time in places where a loose filler cap is more than a small annoyance, and Honda built the CRF1000L from 2016 to 2019 with the same M20x2.5 thread found across much of its range. Accossato's FP004 fits in its place, CNC-machined aluminium anodised in eight colours, a cap that stands out against the bike's adventure-styled bodywork rather than disappearing into it.

Construction and Material Quality
The FP004 comes from aluminium shaped on CNC machines, with colour added afterwards by anodising, eight shades running from restrained titanium and silver to bold orange and red. Against the Africa Twin's dual-purpose paintwork, bright colours like orange or red read clearly even caked in dust, while silver and titanium sit quietly alongside the bike's more utilitarian panels. The thread quoted, M20x2.5, is the figure that governs whether the cap fits, independent of the model it is bolted to.
Oil Checks After a Day on Gravel
A ride that has spent hours on unsealed roads deserves a more careful look underneath than one confined to tarmac, simply because dust finds its way into places tarmac riding never reaches. Clean around the filler thoroughly before it comes off, more thoroughly than the habit might be on a road bike, since grit here has further to travel before it causes a problem. Check the level cold and level, and seat the FP004 by hand once the reading is done. A loaded Africa Twin, panniers and all, is worth checking on its own weight rather than on a stand that tilts the sump unevenly.

Accossato lists the FP004 for the Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin from 2016 to 2019. No other Accossato cap is currently catalogued for this motorcycle. Since the M20x2.5 thread decides the fit, the same cap also suits other manufacturers' machines, among them several Ducati models.
