Ducati's Hypermotard has always been the bike for riders who like to brake late into a tight corner, tip it in on its wide handlebar and drive out with the body upright. The 950 of 2019 carried that idea forward with a slimmer body, twin silencers tucked under the seat and electronics set up for playful riding. A machine used like this rewards an owner who keeps an eye on the basics, and engine oil comes first among them. Accossato's FP004 is an oil filler cap for the Hypermotard 950, machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodised in eight colours and threaded M20x2.5.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the FP004 from aluminium on CNC machines and then anodises it, so the colour is formed in the outer layer of the metal instead of sitting on top as paint. The thread is M20x2.5. Accossato describes the cap as fitting the models on its list and as adaptable to other motorcycles whose filler takes that size. On the Hypermotard 950 much of the engine stays on show, and the cap becomes part of the picture: titanium, black or silver keep it discreet, while red, gold, orange, blue or green turn the filler into a visible accent.
An Oil Diary for a Hard-Ridden Twin
Supermoto-style riding keeps an engine busy: short bursts of throttle, plenty of engine braking and long spells in the lower gears. A healthy twin takes all of that in its stride, but it makes the oil level worth following, and the simplest way to follow it is on paper. Keep a small notebook in the garage and write down the date, the mileage and the reading every time you check. Do it on a cold engine, with the Hypermotard 950 standing exactly as its owner's manual specifies, because a reading taken straight after a ride or with the bike leaning on its side stand tells you little. Over a season the entries form a pattern, and a sudden change in that pattern is the early warning every owner hopes to get in time. When a top-up is needed, wipe the area around the filler before opening it, add a little oil, wait and read again before adding more. Then turn the FP004 in by hand until it seats, without forcing it, and after the next ride check that the cap and the casing beneath it are still dry.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the FP004 for the Hypermotard 950 of 2019. As the cap is defined by its M20x2.5 thread, it also suits other motorcycles with the same filler size, and in our range it is filed under the Hypermotard 939, the Desert X and the Monster 1200 too. If the cap now in your Hypermotard 950 is not the original, confirm the thread before you order. For the same bike Accossato makes the FP007 cover for the clutch master cylinder and the TS012 cap for the rear brake reservoir; gold, silver, red, black, orange and blue are offered for all three.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or other test documents for the FP004 and therefore sell it for racing and competition use.
