DescriptionThe whole story▼
Suzuki built the GSX-S1000 from 2016 to 2019 as a naked bike around the GSX-R 1000's four-cylinder engine, with none of the fairing of its sportsbike relative to hide the top of that engine from view. On a bike like this, Accossato's FP001 oil filler cap, CNC-machined aluminium anodised in eight colours with an M20x1.5 thread, sits in plain sight rather than tucked behind plastic.
Key Features
- Oil filler cap for the Suzuki GSX-S1000, 2016 to 2019
- M20x1.5 thread, the size Accossato states
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish throughout
- Eight colours: orange, blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Also fits other motorcycles with the same filler thread
- No other Accossato cap currently listed for this GSX-S1000
- A visible detail on a naked bike built around an exposed engine
- No German ABE on file; intended for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FP001 from aluminium and anodises it after shaping, so the colour is worked into the surface of the metal rather than painted over it. M20x1.5 is the thread Accossato quotes, and past that the maker states only that the cap suits the GSX-S1000 and the rest of its list, as well as other bikes built around the same filler size. Titanium, black and silver keep things understated on a naked bike already showing plenty of bare metal, while orange, red, blue, green or gold add a spot of colour to an engine with nothing else covering it.
Everyday Riding on a Naked Four
A bike like the GSX-S1000 tends to get ridden daily rather than saved for weekends, which means the oil filler sees more open-and-close cycles over a year than it would on a bike kept for occasional use. That makes the basics worth sticking to every time: let the engine cool fully before opening the filler, check the level beforehand as the manual sets out, and wipe around the opening first so no grit drops in in the moment the cap comes off. Look at the thread and sealing face on the cap and the housing, cleaning either if needed, then top up gradually and seat the FP001 home by hand without forcing it further once it stops turning easily. A glance at the filler after the next ride confirms it has stayed dry.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FP001 for the Suzuki GSX-S1000 across its 2016 to 2019 run, and the same cap also covers the Aprilia Caponord 1200 and Caponord 1200 Rally, the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750, 900 and 1200 and the Benelli Leoncino 500, among other models sharing the M20x1.5 size; check the exact application before ordering. No other Accossato deckel is currently listed for this particular GSX-S1000 in our catalogue.
Road Approval
Accossato has given us no test or approval paperwork for the FP001, so it is offered for racing and closed-course use rather than German road use.
