DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's GPM1 swingarm chain slider bolts flat to the swingarm of the KTM 450SX-F built between 2011 and 2015, giving the chain a surface to run against instead of the swingarm itself as it travels back to the rear sprocket. It is offered in orange, blue or black.
Key Features
- Swingarm chain slider for the KTM 450SX-F, 2011 to 2015
- Accossato code GPM1
- Fixed mount, bolted flat to the swingarm
- Orange, blue or black
- Same application also covers chain guide GCM1, floating slider GSM1 and axle blocks RCM1 and RTM1 for this bike
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Bolted flat along the top of the swingarm, the GPM1 takes the direct wear that would otherwise fall on the swingarm's own surface every time the chain runs across it under load. A fixed slider like this does not move with the chain the way a floating design can, so it depends on being checked regularly for a groove worn through its surface rather than relying on any built-in give to absorb extra movement. Once that groove reaches through to the swingarm beneath, the slider needs replacing before it is run any further.
A Wear Part Worth Checking After Every Muddy Moto
Mud and grit packed into the chain during a wet moto work like grinding paste against whatever the chain runs over, and a swingarm slider takes the worst of that abrasion so the swingarm itself does not. After a race run in standing water or deep mud, pulling the chain clean and giving the slider a look over is worth doing before the next session, since the slider can wear down faster under those conditions than it would on a dry, dusty track. Accossato also lists the floating GSM1 slider and GCM1 chain guide for the same bike, for riders wanting to address the whole chain line together.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the KTM 450SX-F across 2011 to 2015 for the GPM1; buyers should compare the application list against their own bike before ordering, since the fitment window for this part is narrower than some of the other chain-line parts Accossato lists for the same model.
Road Approval
No German ABE is on file for the GPM1, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
Scope of Delivery
