DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitted along the top of the swingarm, the GPM1 carries the FE 501's running chain so that it bears against a replaceable slider rather than against the swingarm itself. Accossato lists this swingarm chain slider for the FE 501 built between 2014 and 2016, part of the chain-line range it offers for this bike alongside a guide and two styles of axle block.
Key Features
- Swingarm chain slider for the Husqvarna FE 501, 2014 to 2016
- Accossato code GPM1, fitted along the top of the swingarm
- Carries the running chain and shields the swingarm from abrasion
- Available in orange, blue or black
- Same part also listed for the Husqvarna FE 450, the Husqvarna TC 250 and the KTM 125 EXC
- Accossato also offers a chain guide and both styles of axle block for this bike
- No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato shapes the GPM1 to the FE 501's own swingarm curve rather than a generic profile meant to suit several widths of swingarm. The colour chosen, orange, blue or black, has no bearing on how the slider does its job, only on how the bike looks once fitted. A slider that has worn down to a thin edge or developed a clear groove cut by the chain is due for replacement before that wear reaches the swingarm it is there to protect.
Swapping Between a Two-Stroke and a Four-Stroke
Accossato's own list puts this same slider against the two-stroke TC 250 as well as the four-stroke FE 501, two very different engines sharing one swingarm design across the Husqvarna range. For a rider who keeps one of each in the garage, perhaps a two-stroke for quick motocross sessions and the FE 501 for longer trail days, that shared part means fitting identical sliders to both bikes rather than tracking two separate designs. It says nothing about how the two bikes ride, only that the swingarm geometry behind the chain happens to line up closely enough for Accossato to list one slider against both. Riders moving parts between bikes, or simply keeping one spare slider on the shelf for either machine, benefit from that overlap without having to think about it further.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the FE 501 across 2014 to 2016 on the GPM1's own application list, a shorter span than the chain guide listed for the same bike. The identical slider also fits the FE 450, the TC 250 and the KTM 125 EXC, among the wider range Accossato lists elsewhere for this part. Given how much narrower this window is than for some other parts on this bike, checking the exact build year against the application list matters more here. The GCM1 chain guide and either style of axle block are also available for this bike for owners covering the whole chain line at once.
Road Approval
Accossato has no German ABE on file for the GPM1, so it is intended for off-road and competition use, not for a bike used on public roads.
