DescriptionThe whole story▼
A new owner collecting the current KTM 500EXC-F from the dealer is taking home the most torque-rich bike in the whole enduro four-stroke line-up, and many spend the first few rides simply learning how little throttle this engine actually needs on tricky ground. Accossato's enlarged Ergal footpegs for the 500EXC-F of 2024 to 2026 come in orange, blue or black.
Key Features
- Enlarged footpegs for the KTM 500EXC-F, model years 2024 to 2026
- Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
- Broader base for a bike that needs very little throttle
- Accossato's stated use: motocross, enduro and off-road riding
- Orange, blue or black
- Two pegs, left and right, sold together
- Earlier 500EXC-F generations use separate Accossato sets
- No approval documents on file; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato gives this part two facts and no others: it is enlarged, and it is made from Ergal, within the general use named for motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles; Ergal belongs to the high-strength aluminium alloys. The current 500EXC-F takes the pair in orange, blue or black.
Learning to Use Less Throttle
New owners of a 500EXC-F often arrive expecting to ride it much like a smaller enduro bike, only to discover within the first few technical sections that a fraction of the throttle opening does the same job the smaller engine needed a firmer twist to achieve. Overriding that instinct takes a few rides, and riders typically describe the engine as feeling almost lazy at first, before realising just how much is on tap below the point where they had been working the throttle.
While that lesson is still being learned, the feet take on extra importance, since a rider who is unsure of the throttle tends to compensate by bracing harder through the legs and relying more on body position to manage the bike's reactions. A broad, dependable peg gives a new owner one steady reference point while the rest of the riding style adapts to an engine that simply has more to give than expected.
Fitment and Compatibility
This FR809 is matched to the 500EXC-F from the 2024 model year onward; a 2012 to 2016 bike needs the FR795, and a 2017 to 2023 bike the FR798, each sold in a different set of colours. Please confirm the build year of your bike before ordering, and reach out if anything is unclear. The FR809 also fits several other current KTM machines in our shop.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or similar approval for this footpeg, and it is therefore offered for competition use.
Scope of Delivery
